Plantronics announced a new wireless stereo headset to meet the growing need for better worker focus in open work environments. Voyager Focus UC was officially unveiled on June 8 at Cisco Live 2015 in San Diego.
July update: Plantronics plans to begin shipping both versions August 1, 2015. Click here to see Voyager Focus UC B825 on our web site. Click here to see Voyager Focus UC B825-M for Skype for Business and Lync on our web site.
Unlike other headsets in their UC lineup, this headset has active noise-cancellation (ANC) technology which drowns out surrounding noise so the user can concentrate better. Voyager Focus UC is designed for UC communications and multimedia applications. It comes with a USB mini dongle and operates on Class 1 Bluetooth, so the range is about 150 feet.
As to be expected, Plantronics engineers built in plenty of fun and practical features like audio alerts to tell you when the battery is low, smart sensors that auto-answer when you put the headset on, and microphone mute alerts. And for those tiring all day long conference calls, this headset is built plush and cushy for every touch point on the head and ears.
Stay tuned for more detailed information in late July when Voyager Focus UC is launched. First shipments are planned for mid to late July 2015.
