Problem: My Jabra Evolve2 75 has poor audio quality, and I’m hearing static noise.
Solution:
Check for Firmware Updates:
Download and Open Jabra Direct:
Go to the Jabra Direct website and download the application for your operating system.
Install and open Jabra Direct.
Check for Firmware Updates:
Once Jabra Direct is open, select your headset from the list of connected devices.
Look for a firmware update option and follow the prompts to update your device if a new version is available. Firmware updates often include fixes for known issues and improvements.
Ensure Proper Connectivity
Use the USB Dongle:
Ensure your Jabra headset is connected via the USB dongle that came with it. The USB dongle ensures stable and high-quality audio connections, especially for softphone applications.
Reconnect if Necessary:
If you’re experiencing issues, try unplugging and reconnecting the USB dongle to a different USB port on your computer.
Adjust softphone Application Settings
For Zoom and Teams:
Open your softphone application (e.g., Zoom or Microsoft Teams).
Go to the Audio Settings or Preferences menu.
Turn Off or Adjust Noise Suppression:
Look for an option related to noise suppression or background noise reduction.
Either turn off noise suppression completely or set it to its lowest setting. Excessive noise suppression can sometimes interfere with audio quality or cause distortion.
Disable all Intel Smart Sound:
This is known as causing problem with the microphone and the headset in general.
Open Device Manager:
Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager from the list.
Locate Sound Controllers:
Scroll down to “Sound, video and game controllers.”
