Problem: My wired headset has an echo! I can either hear myself, or the other person in the call, as an echo.

A lot of PCs have various ways to route sound, as well as different ways to enhance or change sound to meet the “needs” of the environment. This can be a great function, or it can alter the sound for the headset to its detriment. Let’s show a few ways of eliminating an echo from wired headsets.

Solutions:

For an echo while you’re speaking:
-In your PC’s search bar, type in “Change System Sounds” and open it. Select the Recording tab. Navigate to the headset or audio device you’re using, and do the following:

For an echo while the other party is speaking:
-In your PC’s search bar, type in “Change System Sounds” and open it. Click on the Playback tab. Navigate to the headset or audio device you’re using and do the following:

Outcome: These settings should eliminate an echo from or two the headset.
