Plantronics wireless office headsets allow you to conference up to 3 additional users to hear both sides of the call. This is great for training new team members or for monitoring to improve customer service. Those conferenced on may mute their microphone, eliminating any unwanted sounds from being transmitted to the customer.
We™ve put together a quick guide of the steps you should follow when training new team members using Plantronics CS500 or Savi W700 series wireless headsets. This easy process works for land line calls (CS500 & W700) and softphone calls (Savi W700 only). Of course, you should check state law regarding notifying all parties when someone is listening in.
If all the headsets in the session are the same wearing style, follow the steps in the top example. If different style headsets are being used, the second example shows the correct steps.
To Conference up to 4 CS500 or Savi W700 Wireless Headsets – Identical Wearing Styles
1. While the master user has an active link (headset turned on and light flashing), place the guest headset in the charge cradle of the master headset. The power/subscription light on the base will begin flashing and a beep will sound in the master headset.
2. Single press the call control button on the master headset within 10 seconds to accept the guest headset link. If CS500 the base subscription light will be flashing indicating a headset conference. If W700 the base subscription indicator light will be solid yellow, indicating a headset conference.
3. To exit a conference press the guest headset call button. A single tone in the master headset will be heard as each guest leaves the call. Or simply dock the master headset in the charging base.
To Conference up to 4 CS500 or Savi W700 Wireless Headsets “ Different Wearing Styles
1. Turn on primary user’s headset to get an active link (headset light flashing).
2. On the guest headset, hold the volume up button until the indicator light on the headset is solid.
3. If CS500 series: single press the subscription button on the base (round button on back with two arrows pointing at each other) until the power/subscription white light on the base begins to flash. A beep will sound in the master headset.
If W700 series: single press the subscription button on the master base (silver bar on bottom left) and it will start flashing. A beep will sound in the master headset.
4. Press the call control button on the master headset to accept the guest headset link. If CS500 the base will be flashing. If W700 the base subscription indicator will be solid yellow, indicating a headset ow if you have additional headset training needs.
5. To exit a conference press the guest headset call button. A single tone in the master headset will be heard as each guest leaves the call. Or simply dock the master headset in the charging base.
Note: you can mix CS500 and W700 headsets for conferencing! Be sure to let us know if you have additional headset training needs.
